Who is my favorite player?

Hello fellow bloggers! I hope everyone is okay! As for me? Finals are over and school is half over! Whoo hoo! However I don’t think I did very well on my math final which means I probably got a bad grade. Ehh who knows we’ll find out when I get my report card in the mail.

All these late nights and cold weather made me horribly sick. Now I am sneezing and coughing and can barely breathe. I can’t do anything fun this weekend which is a bummer because I really wanted to see Up in the Air! I think I’ll go see it tomorrow if I’m feeling better.

Anyways, I realized that I have yet to tell you who my favorite player is. I think I have been in mlblogs
long enough to tell you all so this is what this blog post is about!

So without further ado, my favorite player in major league baseball is…

                                                   *Drum roll*

Roy Halladay
is a lot of things…..

1. Efficient: His sinker and cutter will get you every time. There must be a reason why he has so many complete games and/or shutouts which leads to number 2

2. A work horse: You are guaranteed a brilliant effort AND start whenever you go to a game where Roy Halladay is pitching. Out of all the pitchers in baseball today he is capable of going the distance. He even pitched an extra inning shutout once against the Tigers. That is impressive stuff! You don’t see many pitchers do that nowadays especially when we put so much emphasis on pitch count. I always hear stories about how pitchers “back in the day” went up to 120 pitches and stuff like that. That would have been fun to watch.

3. Diligent/Driven: Always focused and calm I admire how much effort he puts into sharpening his craft. Anyone who’s anyone knows not to bother him or talk to him before or during a start. (Even in the all star game. It’s intense focus and isolation). You don’t bother the man!

4. Generous: Having been a Blue Jay since his debut he and his family always gave back to the community. Mr Halladay helps various organizations and charities and went beyond to help the Blue Jays organization. (I know this has nothing to do with giving back but he once offered to take less money on his contract on behalf of the betterment of the Blue Jays as a whole. Who does that these days?). I know that he will also do a great part in helping the Phillies organization too

Though I am not Blue Jays fan I wanted him to stay there only because I felt that it was rare to see one player stick it out with one team. However I think that was just selfish thinking. Like I said he is deserving of playoff experience and definitely a championship ring. I hope the Phillies’ fans treat him well because he’s certainly one of the best! (Blue Jays fans really loved him no doubt!). I think one of the biggest crowds I ever saw at Rogers Centre was when the Yankees came and it was AJ Burnett v Roy Halladay. Of Course AJ got a ”welcome home” beating XD. That was exciting!

However there is one thing about Doc I have always wondered… He is certainly due for a no hitter!! He still has time but still I’m shocked he hasn’t had one yet. He certainly came close a couple times.

I wish him the best of luck and glad that I can finally appreciate him at peace without ever having to worry about facing him again! Well that could change but still. Whew I remember one time last year where Halladay threw a complete game with 14 strikeouts. Angels got their butts kicked! That didn’t feel too good!

So there ya go!

18 more days until Spring Training! Are you as excited as I am?!

p.s. Has anyone seen “Up in the Air” yet? Is it a good movie?
