I was shocked to find out yesterday that a beloved Angels announcer, Rory Markas had passed. It surprised me because it was as if it was yesterday I was listening to him and Mark Gubicza announcing games for us Angel fans. He was a part of the organization for 7 years going back to that epic 2002 WS game 7 call. I’ve only had the pleasure of listening to him for a couple of years. Most recently he began to do television than radio which was also a pleasure. I know he had a health scare awhile ago but his death was still alarming. My condolences to his friends (Lyle Spencer and Terry Smith said some really nice words regarding Mr Markas) and especially his family. I have to say he was one of the best to listen to. May he forever rest in peace.
