I’ve don’t remember ever missing Opening Day which makes it even worse.

Well my thoughts are.. if I can’t see the game (nor Angels live which always start 30 minutes before the game…) directly at 7:00 pm then might as well predict how it’s going to be~

Before I do that I would like to do a quick little “I hope you do well this season” for a specific player  

I love Scott Kazmir. I really do. He was once an ace! I really believe he has what it takes to get back to his old self. It was tough seeing him struggle like that last year and I admit when we traded Sean Rodriguez for him I was disappointed. Sean has potential to be a 5 tool player while Kaz was just having a bad season. However he got better and better until playoffs came around. But let’s not talk about that

This offseason, Kaz has expressed that he focused on strength training to improve flexibility and range of motion. He’s had a pretty good spring training thus far though he was scratched from his start on Thursday because of a stiff shoulder. I’m really hoping he’s not hurt. However, he says it’s “done and over with” and his next start will be on Tuesday against the Brew Crew. Hopefully all goes well we depend on him!

With that being said, Joe Saunders is my favorite lol

AND I would like to spearhead a movement amongst the Angels community to give the Opening Day start to no other than Jered Weaver.

He really stepped up last year and has been improving these couple of seasons. Last season he was “16-8 with a 3.75 ERA, the only starter in Scioscia’s rotation not to miss a turn. His 211 innings and 174 strikeouts were career highs.” [Angels Baseball] Weav is confident and passionate yet has that Southern California laid back attitude which I can relate to Not to mention, he did a brilliant job in the postseason. In fact, “In 20 2/3 postseason innings, he has yielded six earned runs (2.61 ERA) while giving up only 12 hits and 10 walks, striking out 22 men.” [Angels Baseball]. He is capable of being our future ace. Heck he’s probably first in line! I have full confidence in him to do so! So, let’s go Sosh! Jered Weaver for Opening Day Starter! 

I have confidence in our offense this year actually which leads me to the Opening Day lineup.   Though I think our running game might decrease (oh darn, i love the running game D: Regular season didn’t even start yet and I’m already missing Figgy!) I certainly believe our power will increase, especially if Brandon Wood comes through. I believe the Opening Day line up will look something like this:

Erick Aybar/Maicer Izturis (SS)

Bobby Abreu (RF)

Torii Hunter (CF)

Hideki Matsui (DH)

Kendry Morales (1B)

Juan Rivera (LF)

Howard Kendrick (2B)

Mike Napoli (C)

Brandon Wood (SS)

Sosh tinkers with the lineup every week or so but this is something that looks pretty stable. 

With a good enough lineup and Weav looking to shut things down I think the Angels will have a gre
at game against Joe Mauer and the Twinkies! The Twins are a great team with some loyal fans (definitely fighters and very unexpected! I respect the Twins‘ organization very much! in some ways they remind me of the Angels ) and I look forward to hearing about how good of a game it was
